PM48549: CEX BATCH COMMAND UTILITY FAILS WITH COMMAND SYNTAX ERROR WHEN SEQUENCE NUMBERS ARE PRESENT IN COLUMNS 73-80

Error description

• This APAR will address the following:
  - Syntax error from Cex Batch Command utility when sequence
    numbers are present in columns 73-80.
  - MSGCEX5019 issued stating active session cache is full
    without receiving subsequent CEX5019 message saying full cache
    problem was relieved.

  This APAR is addressing the following issues:
  1. CEX Batch Command Utility fails with command syntax error
  when data, e.g., sequence numbers, is present in columns
  73-80.
  2. Message CEX5019 issued stating active session cache is
  full without receiving subsequent CEX5019 message saying
  full cache problem was relieved.
  3. Event record x'3E' has incorrect value in field
  CERE_3E_PFXLL when the message exit is HWSMSCX0 and
  the exit was called for READ.
  The value in PFXLL is x'94' and it should be x'14'.
  

Problem conclusion

• The following changes have been made for the above issues:
  1. CEX Batch Command Utility changed to ignore all data
  in command input in columns 73-80.
  2. Changes made to correctly decrement active session
  cache counter so that subsequent CEX5019 message will
  be issued when full cache problem is relieved.
  3. Correct CEXTECL to not overlay the CERE_3E_PFXLL field
  during event record build.
