Error description

  • In DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS, ALTER of the partitioning
    key of a table with contains LOB columns results in RC = 8
    and SQLCODE = -20182
    DSNT408I SQLCODE = -20182, ERROR:  PARTITIONING CLAUSE ENDING AT
             ON ALTER STATEMENT FOR tbowner.tbname IS NOT VALID
    .
    Additional Symptoms: rc8 sqlcoden20182 msgDSNT408I
    

Local fix

  • Perform ALTER from table space level.  WSL correctly creates
    the job to drop and recreate the table space.

    The DB2 Object Comparison Tool should not generate the ALTER
    PARTITION statement, but should drop and recreate the table.
