Error description

  • When a global type exists in a VOB that is NOT top of the
AdminVOB hierarchy, and a new global type
is created higher up the hierarchy with 'mkXXtype -global
    -acquire ...' then a GlobalDefinition
hyperlink is created from the existing type to the new type, and
the type_scope of the existing type
    is converted to 'local copy'.

In a MultiSite environment the hyperlink is propagated to other
replicas but the change of scope is not,
producing a replica divergence where the scope is reported as
'local copy' at one site but 'global' at another.

    Steps to Reproduce:

    Given an existing AdminVOB \TeamOne_Admin
with an existing global brtype TeamOne_Sydney
And moving this into a hierarchy with top AdminVOB \Corp_Admin

    cleartool mkhlink AdminVOB vob:\TeamOne_Admin vob:\Corp_Admin
    cleartool mkbrtype -global -acquire TeamOne_Sydney@\Corp_Admin
    multitool syncreplica -export -fship NYC@\Corp_Admin
    multitool syncreplica -export -fship NYC@\TeamOne_Admin
    ...
    cleartool lstype -long -local
    brtype:TeamOne_Sydney@\TeamOne_Admin
(compare result at Sydney and at NYC)

    Workaround:

The only way currently to reset the 'Global' flag on
    brtype:TeamOne_Sydney@\TeamOne_Admin at NYC is
    1. remove the GlobalDefinition hyperlink
    2. remove brtype:TeamOne_Sydney@\Corp_Admin
    3. recreate brtype:TeamOne_Sydney@\Corp_Admin by running the
    mkbrtype at NYC
repeat for as many replicas as there are in the family

    ****************************************************************
In a MultiSite environment the hyperlink is propagated to
other replicas but the change of scope is not, it remains
as a global type instead of a "local copy"
