PM45723: ROW COMMAND COPY/DELETE ISSUED AND COMPLETED ON QCF PANEL, HOWEVER THE COPY PORTION FAILS WITHOUT NOTICE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• A copy / delete row command was issued under a QCF TSO ISPF
  panel and it completes as expected, however the copy never
  happens and no return code or error message is returned.
  This happens when a data set name is not correct (has wrong
  attributes - type,lrecl) but a return code of zero is returned.
  This can occur in QCF batch as well as with the panels.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: IQC4053E errors show when the           *
  *                      UNLOAD or BROWSE data set does not      *
  *                      have correct parameters - LRECL         *
  *                      for the data set is too small and       *
  *                      messages can not fit in a record.       *
  *                      The step does not end with RC=8.        *
  *                      This is misleading and next steps       *
  *                      execute, even though they require       *
  *                      this step to be performed correctly.    *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Programs have been changed-the BROWSE        *
  *                 and UNLOAD functions stop after the          *
  *                 error message and the return code            *
  *                 is set to 8. Next steps will work based      *
  *                 on this return code and the conditions       *
  *                 set in the EXEC statements.                  *
