Error description
In a cluster with two cluster members, when a request is redirected to a different cluster member, the JavaServer Faces (JSF) datatable view is not displayed properly when using JavaServer Pages (JSP) to display the content. Some of the JSF components that should have been in the restored view are being re-created during render response phase. Only in a failing case do we see extra components generated during the render response phase. Presumably this occurs because the tag could not find the corresponding component in the view. JSPs on two cluster members have a different generated JspId.

**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: IBM WebSphere Application Server Version * * 7.0 and 8.0 users of JavaServer Faces * * (JSF) with JavaServer Pages (JSP). * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: JSF applications contained within JSP * * files, in a clustered environment, * * can result in a JSF component * * possessing a different ID generated * * in a failover scenario. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** In a clustered environment, if a JSF page is requested the JSP container will generate IDs for the JSF components. If an action is performed on the rendered page after a failover occurs, the JSP container will generate new IDs for the JSF components which have not explicitly set an ID attribute. This can result in unexpected behavior such as improper rendering because new JSF components were created when they should have simply been restored from the existing view. This issue appears to only occur when client side state saving is used in JSF.
Problem conclusion
The JSP Container code was modified to generate component IDs which will be the same across a clustered environment. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 7.0.0.21 and 8.0.0.2.
