PM43279: IQCABAT0 DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THE MAXAGE PARAMETER WHEN IT IS USEDTO CREATE JCL FROM SKELETONS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• IQCABAT0 is the program that creates jobs from skeletons.
  When using this program with the MAXAGE= parameter and
  a function statement (such as RECOVERDM in this case), the
  MAXAGE parm is not passed along to the created JCL (or is lost).
  Currently only IQCSELCT with CHKPT LAST is designed to take this
  parameter and make use of it.  This APAR will allow IQCABAT0 to
  recognize and pass along the MAXAGE paramater.

  Programs are changed to use the skeletal FUNCTION statement in
  the created JCL.
  

Problem conclusion

• Install  the PTF to have the FUNCTION statement accepted from
  skeletal JCL and moved to the created JCL. AGE=.. and other
  parameters on the skeletal function statement will be
  moved to the new created job.
