    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    Worker threads allocated to ECI requests remain allocated if an
    IPIC connection cannot be established. The client application
    does not receive a response.
    If all the worker threads are allocated, subsequent attempts to
    send ECI requests to the Gateway daemon result in error rc=61445
    ERROR_WORK_WAS_REFUSED being returned to the client application.

    If the maximum number of active connection manager threads is
    reached before the maximum number of worker threads, the
    following message is returned to the client application:
    java.io.IOException: CTG6668E Initial handshake flow failed:
     ERROR_CONNNECTION_FAILED

    The Gateway daemon does not shut down normally.

Problem conclusion

  • CICS TG has been corrected. The failure to establish an IPIC
    connection does not deadlock worker threads.
