Dump Title: D2DC,ABND=0C4-0000003B,U=O240423 ,M=C8 ,C=101.DMC -DSNIISRT,M=DSNTFRCV,LOC=DSNSLD4 .DSNSVSFB+065C Dump Title: D2DC,ABND=04E-00C90101,U=O240423 ,M=C8 ,C=101.DMC -DSNICREL,M=DSNTFRCV,LOC=DSNIDM .DSNIKESR:5008 ABEND0C4 in DSNSVSFB was issued because a DM workarea's storage header had been overlaid. Also ABEND04E RC00C90101 DSNIKESR:5008 was issued due to a corrupted row made by an UPDATE. The tablespace was in BRF. But in an UPDATE process, it was treated as RRF partially due to a residual flag and it caused variable problems. Also abend04E RC00E20992 DSNSVSVB+0E2E SMCOVERLAY DB2OVRLAY/K

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All DB2 Users of V10. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The following ABENDs can occur after * * or during UPDATE. * * RC00C90101 DSNIKESR ERQUAL5008 * * ABEND04C at DSNSVSFB+065C * * RC00C90101 DSNILREP ERQUAL502A * * RC00C90101 DSNISGSS ERQUAL5001 * * * * Other ABENDs could also occur due to * * storage overlay or data corruption. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** An uninitialized bit indicated that the row was in Reordered Row Format when it was in Basic Row Format. This caused the user defined default value for missing varying length columns to be returned without the 2-byte length preceding the data. The user defined data was then interpreted by DB2 to be the length of the data that followed.
Problem conclusion
DB2 code is fixed to initialize the row format bit properly.
