    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. *
    ****************************************************************
This APAR provides the following enhancements:
    - To enable to create up to four image copy data sets for one
      DBDS or area.

      This enhancement is for MR0209116648.

    - To change the default number of I/O buffer of the image copy
      data set to 50.

    - To reduce the size of Checkpoint file of Checkpoint Restart
      function.

The following new keywords are provided for this enhancement.
      - EXPDT3=, EXPDT4=, EXPDT5=, EXPDT6=, EXPDT7=
      - RETPD3=, RETPD4=, RETPD5=, RETPD6=, RETPD7=
      - UNIT3=, UNIT4=, UNIT5=, UNIT6=, UNIT7=
      - DATACLAS3=, DATACLAS4=, DATACLAS5=, DATACLAS6=, DATACLAS7=

    *** NOTICE ! ***
This APAR changes the length of the control block and the data
in Checkpoint file of HP Image Copy V4.2. The Checkpoint data
that is created by HP Image Copy V4.2 without fix of APAR
PM40738 is not valid after applying APAR PM40738. Users who
use Checkpoint Restart function must delete previous
Checkpoint file before running HP Image Copy, when you apply
     the maintenance of APAR PM40738.

For more detail, please refer HP Image Copy V42 DCF that will
available later. When the DCF becomes available, this APAR
information will be update so as to point the DCF document.

This APAR also includes fixes for following problems.
    - The message FABJ9014I ( MSGFABJ9014I ) for secondary image
copy data set is missing when you run one of following image
      copy process with MSGFREQ= keyword:
      - Request FASTIC=(opt,DUMP) process and creating secondary
        image copy data set.
      - Request FASTIC=(opt,COPY) process and creating secondary
image copy data set by OFFLDTYPE=S.

    - HP Image Copy does not check ICOUT= keyword in GLOBAL
statement in which DD name is specified as the 2nd image
copy or later. If specific DD name is presented as the 2nd
image copy or later, HP Image Copy should terminate with
      RC=16 and message FABJ0105E ( MSGFABJ0105E ).

    - Message FABJ0006E ( MSGFABJ0006E ) for GROUP statement is
      issued incorrectly.

    - Message FABJ4100I ( MSGFABJ4100I ) for Checkpoint/Restart
      processing is issued incorrectly.

    - HP Create Image Copy function sets the incorrect address of
DCB exit list to the DCB macro for third image copy.

    - The value of "DEFAULT" and "ACTIVE GLOBAL SETTING FOR THIS
STEP" of GLOBAL options report is shown incorrectly for the
      following keywords.
      - DBBUF
      - DSBUF
      - ICBUF
      - OFFLDSTACK
      - RETPD
      - TASKCTL
      - VOLCNT

Comments

  • The function of creating up to four image copy data sets can be
enabled if you specified 3rd and 4th operand of ICOUT= or
STACK=. Data set naming of them can be controlled by DSN3= and
    DSN4= keyword.

There are following restrictions are available for creating up
to four image copy data sets for one DBDS or area:
    - Capability of creating four image copy data sets is available
      when using FASTIC=N, FASTIC=(opt,DUMP), or FASTIC=(opt,FDUMP).
When using FASTIC=(opt,COPY) of the Advanced Image Copy
function, maximum number of image copy data sets for one DBDS
      or area is two.

    - When using the Checkpoint Restart function ( RESTART=Y ) and
HP Image Copy detects error in either of third or fourth image
copy data set, the error leave out of the restart condition
and HP Image Copy continues the process of the remaining image
      copy data set.

    - When using the conditional DBRC registration
( NOTIFYMODE=COND ) and HP Image Copy detects error in either
of third or fourth image copy data set, HP Image Copy
continues the process of the remaining image copy data sets
and registers the information of the primary and secondary
image copy data set in DBRC RECON. Because DBRC RECON allows
only up to two copies for one DBDS or AREA.

    - Information of the third and the fourth image copy data sets
are not registered in the DBRC RECON at any time. Even if the
error is detected in either of the primary or secondary image
copy data set, information of the third or fourth one is not
registered in DBRC RECON instead of the error image copy data
      set.
