Error description

  • HPIC STACK process updated JFCB for each output data set for
writing multiple data sets in one tape. It changed the blocksize
in the DCB, but leaving the blocksize in the DCBE alone at OPEN
exit. If a DCBE is coded, then the DCBE must be updated to
reflect the correct blocksize that will be used.

    * HPIC sets multiple of record size for *
    * the first DBDS into the DCBE of ICDS as *

    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. *
    ****************************************************************
HP Image Copy stacking process for Image Copy function ends with
    CC=8 and IEC141I 013-20 ( MSGIEC141I RSN20 ) message.

HPIC sets multiple of record size for the first DBDS into the
DCBE of ICDS as block size, and it is not overwritten with the
correct value for subsequence DBDS. Therefore, the OPEN process
for subsequence ICDS fails by using inappropriate block size.

When the STACK process is used, HP image Copy always uses system
    optimized block size.
When the ICOUT process and its block size is not specified on
the DD card of the image copy data set, HP Image Copy uses
appropriate calculated vale as the block size.

Problem conclusion

  • FABJDOPN has been modified as follows:
    - To set zero in DCBBLKSI and DCBEBLKSI at the QSAM Open exit
routine, when the STACK process is selected.
    - To set zero in the DCBBLKSI at the QSAM Open exit routine,
when the ICOUT process is selected and DD cards for image copy
      data set are not presented.
    - To set appropriate block size in both DCB and DCBE at the QSAM
Open exit, when the ICPUT process is selected and DD cards for
image copy data sets are presented.
    - To use the block size in the DCBE for Open process for the LBI
      capable tape unit.
