PM39221: S878 ABEND IF DB2 FETCH BUFFER SIZE SET TOO LARGE.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• An S878 abend can occur if the DB2 Fetch Buffer Size setup
  parameter is set too large. This parameter is on the 'Shared
  Profile Parameters' setup panel.  The maximum value allowed on
  the panel is 2047M.  A value near this limit can result in an
  S878 abend. This APAR will limit the DB2 Fetch Buffer Size
  setup parm to a value of 256 megabytes or less.
  

Local fix

• Lower the 'DB2 Fetch Buffer Size' parameter on the Setup panel.
  10M should be sufficient for this parameter.
