Error description
Customer reporting an 0C4 abend in IODM intermittently. This is happening when EKCTROUT fails to handle and end of table search indicator when searching the Vector table/IDWKCFTB table in memory for a given workstation. EKCTROUT is not checking the end of table indicator and as such, continues to process assuming it had found an entry. We add logic to check end of table indicator and not go forward, but generate a message instead.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All IODM Version 3.1 users who sometimes * * make changes to IP addresses in their image * * workstation configuration table (IDWKCFTB). * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A S0C4 abend occurred in IODM when the * * IP address was not in the image * * workstation table IDWKCFTB in memory. * * This occurred because the configuration * * table in memory and the image * * workstation table were inconsistent. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Without this fix, customers can avoid the * * problem by using the OTBL transaction. * * * * The OTBL transaction updates the Object * * Distribution Manager configuration tables * * that reside in memory with the updated DB2 * * tables. The user can use the OTBL WKCF * * transaction to fix the inconsistency between * * configuration tables in memory and * * the image workstation table IDWKCFTB. * * * * Due to System speed and advanced processors, * * you should use OTBL judiciously. * * Since OTBL updates incore tables, * * unpredictable results may occur if the table * * changes while a transaction runs. * **************************************************************** A S0C4 abend occurred in IODM when the configuration table in memory and the image workstation table (IDWKCFTB) were inconsistent.
Problem conclusion
Instead of a S0C4 abend, IODM now issues error message EKC0307A which will help the user to find out which workstation is not in the configuration table in memory. For example: EKC0307A WORKSTATION 091E2C71 WAS NOT FOUND IN WORKSTATION CONFIGURATION TABLE -- MODERR: EKCTROUT RETCODE: 4 REACODE: FFFF004A. 091E2C71 represents workstation IP-ADDR 9.30.44.113 where each of the four parts of the dotted-decimal-format number is converted to 2 digits of hex.
