    *                 a DB2 system with CCSID <> 37, and get a     *
    *                 parser error for a statement that contains   *
    *                 a character with hex value '5B'x, '7B'x, or  *
    *                 '7C'x.                                       *

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: According to the DB2 R810 SQL           *
    *                      Reference, Language Elements,           *
    *                      Characters, "DB2 accepts code points    *
    *                      X'5B', X'7B' and X'7C' for $, # and @,  *
    *                      even if the CCSID that is specified is  *
    *                      not 37 or 500".  The Admin Tool's       *
    *                      parser did not fully support this       *
    *                      behavior.                               *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

    According to the DB2 R810 SQL Reference, Language Elements,
    Characters, "DB2 accepts code points X'5B', X'7B' and X'7C' for
    $, # and @, even if the CCSID that is specified is not 37 or
    500".  The Admin Tool's parser did not fully support this
    behavior.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The parser has been enhanced to support the code points X'5B,
    X'7B' and X'7C' for $, # and @ regardless of the CCSID used.
