PM32746: MSG "ENTER REQUIRED FIELD" WHEN USING THE EDIT COMMAND ON PANEL ADB2EE THEN SQLCODEN104

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS panel ADB2EE issued the
  message "Enter required field" when the EDIT command line
  command is used.
  Upon exiting the panel ADB2EEE "Edit Explain Statement" a
  SQLCODE -104 ILLEGAL SYMBOL "<END-OF-STATEMENT>" is issued.

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

  There is no logic on panel ADB2EE to ensure that the customer
  has input a valid command and the SQL statement generated on
  panel ADB2EE is incomplete, which causes the SQLCODE = -104
  error.
  

Problem conclusion

• Panel ADB2EE has been modified to refuse invalid commands and
  to accept valid commands so that ADB2EE can generate complete
  SQL statements to be executed.
