Error description
Beginning with Java5, libjvm.so can be found within the directories /usr/lpp/java/J5.0/bin/classic or /usr/lpp/java/J5.0/bin/j9vm Under Java 1.4, the dll only existed within the directory /usr/lpp/java/J1.4/bin/classic It is unclear which dll customers should use: our recommendation is to use those stored within /usr/lpp/java/J5.0/bin/j9vm Two copies also exist within Java5 64 bit, as well as in Java6 31bit and 64bit in the /bin/j9vm and /bin/classic directories.
Local fix
use the files within the /usr/lpp/java/J5.0/bin/j9vm directory
Problem summary
The Java 5 sdk is shipped with multiple redirectors for libjvm.so, these are for custom launchers that rely on a hard coded relative path for libjvm.so in the JDK
Problem conclusion
IBM customers can use any of the libjvm.so libraries.
Temporary fix
