    ****************************************************************
This apar introduces DRA options for IMS V11. A CCTL will
specify DRA function level 3 to indicate support of DRA options.
No new DRA option is being implemented in V11 with this apar,
only acceptance of the new DRA function level and the DRA
options fields in the PAPL, and the DFSPRP macro.

    ** NOTE **
CICS TS 4.2 invokes the DRA at function level 3. CICS TS 4.2
users of IMS V11 will require this apar.

    Additional symptoms:
     DFHDB8111 E mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss xxxxxxxx CONNECTION HAS FAILED.
    DBCTL RETURN CODE 36.

Comments

  • This change introduces DRA function level 3 which adds support
for DRA options. No new DRA options are being introduced with
this apar. Any future DRA enhancements will be introduced via
DRA options. This should eliminate the need for changes on lower
level IMS releases to coexist/tolerate enhancements introduced
in higher releases. This allows CCTLs (ie CICS) to exploit new
DRA function without needing to first know the version of IMS
    to which it is connecting.
This can be accomplished in the following manner.
The CCTL issues a DRA INIT request with function level 3 and
indicates which functions of the DRA to activate if available
via the PAPLDROP settings. On return from the INIT call,
PAPLDLEV will contain feedback on what options have been
    activated.
    Module and macro changes:
DFSPRRC0 - Modified to accept DRA function level 3 and set
               PAPLDLEV accordingly
DFSPZP00 - Recompiled to pick up DFSPRP macro changes
DFSPAC - Add function level 3 and redefine DRA options field
DFSPRP - Reserve and init to 0 potential options fields for
               control block generation.
DFSPAPL - Add new field PAPLDROP for DRA options.
               Define additional flag in PAPLDLEV
DFSAERA0 - Recompiled to pick up DFSPAC macro changes
DFSAERG0 - Recompiled to pick up DFSPAC macro changes
DFSAERI0 - Recompiled to pick up DFSPAC macro changes
DFSPRA10 - Recompiled to pick up DFSPAC macro changes
