Problem summary

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Some packages experience higher CPU     *
*                      times and LC25 when compared with       *
*                      a prior release of DB2.                 *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

Packages that have very short running SQL statements or that
issue frequent Commits and they are bound release commit may
have increased CPU time when compared to a prior release of DB2.
Also Latch Class 25 contention may increase in a multi-thread
environment where there are a number of threads accessing the
same package

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • DB2 code was modified so that some of the code is no longer
executed under the latch. This reduces the latch contention.
Some of the code was moved to a service task to reduce the
CPU time required for packages that have a very short
running SQL statements or that issue frequent commits.
