Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: IBM WebSphere Application Server Version * * 6.1 users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The SSL Channel may incorrectly * * release WsByteBuffers internally and * * put it into an unstable state. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Under heavy loads, the SSLChannel may incorrectly release WsByteBuffers internally. This can happen when a connection is closed while the SSL Channel was still holding on to incoming data, in cases where the connection was not closed after both sides had read all the data. This can cause both the HTTPChannel and the SSLChannel to release a given WsByteBuffer and thereby put it into an unstable state. This can result in an IllegalArgumentException coming from a JDK java.nio.Buffer class. For example: Caused by: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException at java.nio.Buffer.position(Buffer.java:218)
Problem conclusion
The SSL Channel was modified to not double release buffers The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 6.1.0.39. Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for delivery information: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=180&uid=swg27004980
