Error description

  • FPA uses Media Manager and there is a possibility of an abend
when an input file is unformatted vsam.
One ABEND in Media Manager that occured was an ABEND0C1 due to
a wild branch (to low core) that occured when executing out of
    HFPVOPN0.
After this code error is fixed, when an input file is
unformatted VSAM, FPA will abend correctly instead.

1.While error processing for I/O error, error exit of Media
Manager didn't save return address. Therefore, Media Manager
occured ABEND0C1 due to a wild branch.
2.The buffer for the DMACPRT report was still null due to the
I/O error. Therefore, HFPHDPA0 gets S0C9 abend at "DR"
instruction for calculating the ROOT parameter in the
      "DMACPRT report".

Problem conclusion

  • 1.The module HFPVOPN0 is modified to save a return address in
the error exit of Media Manager.
2.The module HFPHADS0 is modified to check return code from
Media Manager, and issue MSGHFPF3351E and abend when the
      return code is not zero.
