Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of CICS PA v3.2 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: This APAR provides PA v3.2 with * * toleration and functional exploitation * * of CICS TS 4.2 * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** . 1. CICS Transaction Server V4.2 support. a. Support for new CMF and Statistics data. b. New Transaction Tracking List and Summary reports. c. New derived fields OSLATNCY and PHLATNCY. 2. Introduce RUN command from Forms. 3. Historical Database Definition now accepts masking in APPLID. 4. Support DB2 V10. 5. Additional Statistics Alert samples. 6. Additional Sample Forms. 7. UOOWID and UOWSEQ fields containing x'00' bytes are translated to x'40' when loaded into Historical Databases resulting in incorrect values for these fields. 8. CICS Performance Analyzer does not correctly convert UOWSEQ values greater than x'7FFF' (32767). 9. ABENDC04 occurs when selecting last Sample Form. Summary of Changes 1. CICS Transaction Server V4.2 support. a. Support new CMF and Statistics data. b. New Transaction Tracking List and Summary reports. These Form based reports exploit the new tracking CMF data in CICS Transaction Server V4.2 to provide the user with transaction flow and performance data. These reports wil aid the user in understanding and diagnosing issues relating to transaction flow. c. New derived fields OSLATNCY and PHLATNCY have been introduced to provide the latency times between executions of called and calling tasks. These fields wil assist the user in identifying inordinate delays in the execution of associated transactions. 2. The new RUN command in Forms allows the user to generate reports directly from Forms, thus avoiding the need to specify the Form in a Report Set in order to generate the report. 3. The Historical Database Definition now accepts masking in APPLID, thus allowing the user access to all their System Definitions in the Historical Database (HDB). 4. CICS Performance Analyzer now supports DB2 V10, including compressed DB2 Accounting SMF records. 5. Additional Sample Statistics Alerts have been added and existing samples renamed to make the names more descriptive 6. Additional Sample Forms have been added to provide examples of reports that expolit the new CICS Transaction Server V4. tracking data. 7. UOOWID and UOWSEQ fields containing x'00' are now loaded correctly in the Historical Databases. 8. CICS Performance Analyzer has been modified to correctly convert large UOWSEQ values. 9. CICS Performance Analyzer has been modified to correctly process Samples Forms.
