Error description

  • If a x'5923' log record gets logged before a x'4080' log record
and after a x'4001' log record, DFR in IMS V9 or later issues a
MSGDFR3402E REASON CODE=NOADSC message and ends with an
    ABENDU3402.

    ****************************************************************
DFR gets and updates the control block (ADSC) in the ADSC pool
with a X'5921' log record or a X'4087' log record that gets
    logged after a FP checkpoint.
Then DFR analyzes log records after the selected checkpoint and
updates the control blocks (ADSC) to the state that they were
at the time of IMS failure.
Whenever a X'5923' log record gets logged before a X'4080' log
record and after a X'4001' log record, since DFR has not
gotten the control block (ADSC) yet, it cannot update the DEDB
    area data set information.
Then DFR issues a MSGDFR3402E REASON CODE=NOADSC message and
    ends with an ABENDU3402.

Problem conclusion

  • The following modules have been modified.
    (x = 9, A , B and C)
    *
DFRLFCTx - This module was changed so that DFR might bypass the
process of X'5921', X'5922' and X'5923' log records
whenever a FP checkpoint is not processed.
This is because the DEDB area data set information
will get processed later by X'4087' log records.
. When the RSCDCKP1 bit is set to the RSCDCKPF flag
which shows that the FP checkpoint is processed,
                 DFR processes X'5921', X'5922' and X'5923' log
                 records.
