PM30200: VARIOUS ABEND0C4'S POSSIBLE WHEN CERTAIN STORAGE AREAS ARE NOT RELEASED AT QCF FUNCTION END

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Possibility of an abend0c4 seen when QCF doesn't release storage
  at the end of a function. When functions are executed in batch
  or via the panels, the abend0c4 will not be seen.  It occurs
  only during execution of server commands, because it is the
  same task for all the commands. Two ABENDS0C4's that have been
  seen due to this are out of:
  IQCXINIT near x'550'
  IQCXRPFX near x'124'

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Various ABEND0C4'S and ABEND0C1'S       *
  *                      show when the server runs for long      *
  *                      time and many server commands are       *
  *                      executed, or many panel functions       *
  *                      are performed.                          *
  *                      Some storages are not released at the   *
  *                      end of the function execution, these    *
  *                      storages build up and at some point     *
  *                      there is no storage to satisfy the      *
  *                      storage obtains commands, or to         *
  *                      open the files.                         *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  The clean up process at the end of the functions
  is reviewed and all storages are released.
  

Problem conclusion

• Install the APAR to avoid server's abends.
