PM29553: ABEND S0C7 AT OFFSET X'38C' IN HCOZLDX0 (PK30536) EXECUTING SHCOSLIB(HCOIVPBA) STEP33, WHICH READS A COMPRESSED IC FILE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Abend S0C7 at offset X'38C' in HCOZLDX0 (PK30536) executing
  SHCOSLIB(HCOIVPBA) STEP33.  STEP33 of this job tries to run
  program HCOPMAxx with an IMS Image Copy of a compressed data
  base as input.  The instruction at X'38C' is a B263 (CMPSC)
  assembler instruction, which will cause either this S0C7 abend,
  or gargbage data, because the data that HCOPMAxx is trying to
  compress is already compressed.
  
  Also cleaned up the JCL so that REGION=0M is on the job card,
  and individual STEP REGION parameters are eiliminated.  Also,
  allo DFSVSAMP specifications for all DLI steps were changed to:

Local fix

• Eliminate STEP33 from the JCL.  This step is unecessary.
