PM29194: GEN/DDL SQLCODEN109 BECAUSE OF MEMBER CLUSTER KEYWORD IN DB2 9

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• In DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS, when DDL / GEN function
  is used for tablespace created in DB2 v8 or lower using
  keyword MEMBER CLUSTER, tool adds keyword to the DDL
  resulting in sqlcode -109 or sqlcode -628.

• manually delete MEMBER CLUSTER keyword
  

Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED: Users of the DB2 Administration Tool for     *
  *                 z/OS who use the GEN/DDL line commands to    *
  *                 generate DDL for table spaces created in     *
  *                 DB2 R810 or lower using the keyword          *
  *                 MEMBER CLUSTER.                              *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When a table space is created in DB2    *
  *                      R810 New Function Mode (NFM) without    *
  *                      specifying the "SEGSIZE", "PARTITIONS"  *
  *                      and "MAXPARTITIONS" clauses, but        *
  *                      includes the "MEMBER CLUSTER" clause,   *
  *                      when DB2 migrates to DB2 9              *
  *                      Compatibility Mode / CM or higher,      *
  *                      the DDL generated is incorrect.         *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  When migrating a table space to DB2 9 Compatibility Mode / CM
  or higher, the table space is changed to a segmented table
  space.  According to the SQL Reference, the option "MEMBER
  CLUSTER" should not be specified for a segmented table space.
