Error description

  • During OMPE data collection, certain data exceptions are
expected and handled by the code. In the normal course of
collecting data from an active DB2 subsystem, storage may be
freed, threads may terminate, and other normal processing may
result in conditions changing during a data collection cycle.

During the course of collecting data for EDM pool statistics, if
an excessive number of exceptions are encountered OMPE may take
a dump for diagnostic purposes. The dump title will read
    OMPE V410 EDMPSNAP DIAGNOSTIC DUMP
even for OMPE V420. The dump title can be seen by issuing the D
D,T (display dump title) command through a zOS console
    interface.

This issue is not typically a problem unless it is occurring
frequently or users begin reporting issues related to EDM Pool
    information.

If the dump is loaded to IPCS and the user selects Option 2
Analysis, followed by Option 1 Symptoms, the following symptom
    string will be seen.
    PIDS/5655OPE00 RIDS/KO2XDB2 RIDS/PROCDSC ADRS/002556 LVLS/410

    Symptom Symptom data Explanation
    --------------- ------------- -----------
    PIDS/5655OPE00 5655OPE00 Component identifier
    RIDS/KO2XDB2 KO2XDB2 Routine identifier
    RIDS/PROCDSC PROCDSC Routine identifier
    ADRS/002556 002556 Storage address
    LVLS/410 410 Program product release
    level

Local fix

  • The dump can be ignored.

If customer has DAE, it will not generate the dump next time
when EDMPOOL Snapshot has issues with CBs.
