  *                 This APAR fixes IMS anebd U0762 during       *
  *                 IMS shutdown.                                *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Abend U0762 in DFSDSPX0 during IMS      *
  *                      shutdown is because of QCF task running *
  *                      and issueing SYNC call without checking *
  *                      for shutdown conditions. DFSDSPX0       *
  *                      issues ISWITCH to DL/I address space ,  *
  *                      which is not avaable at this stage of   *
  *                      shutdown.                               *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  QCF programs have been changed to check for shutdown condition
  before issuing SYNC call, as it is done for all other calls.
  

Problem conclusion

• Install the APAR to avoid the abend.
  Recycle IMS  control region to have the changes in effect.
