Error description

• The DB2 Object Comparison Tool for z/OS' APPLY job fails in the
  UNLOAD step with a RC08 and the message:

  RECORD EXCEEDED THE LIMIT FOR TABLE schema.name
  DSNU012I    DSNUGBAC - UTILITY EXECUTION TERMINATED, HIGHEST
  RETURN CODE=8
  
  when processing a table with a very long combined column length
  ( 32706 in the initially reported example ) and a column length
  is reduced from CHAR(20) to CHAR(10).

  When the DB2 Object Comparison Tool is between source tables
  with LONG VARCHAR and target VARCHAR columns results in a
  DROP/CREATE, the apply job discards data during the LOAD

Problem conclusion

• The problem has been resolved in Version 7.2.  The Version 10
  solution will be carried in APAR PM36028.
