APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • LIST.HISTORY DBD(x) for a DEDB with 89 Areas, 99 CAs and 4 ICs
takes 40+ minutes wall clock time to process. During this time
an enqueue on the RECON is held.
The code will be changed to hold the enqueue for length of time
needed to read the records into storage. Once in storage the
    enqueue will be released.

Local fix

  • Process against a backup copy of the RECON(s) or code
FROMTIME(x) on the LIST.HISTORY DBD command.

    LIST.HISTORY DBD(x) for a DEDB with 89 Areas, 99 CAs and 4 ICs
takes 40+ minutes wall clock time to process. During this time
an enqueue on the RECON is held locking out other RECON access
for the duration of the job.

Problem conclusion

  • GEN:
    KEYWORDS:

    *** END IMS KEYWORDS ***
DSPURP00 and DSPURPHT have been changed to resolve this problem.
Now, the RECON enqueue will be held long enough to collect all
of the records required for the LIST.HISTORY. In this case that
took approximately 17 secs. The RECONs will then be released so
other jobs can access them. The process will continue to format
the output list which does not require access to RECON.
