The z/OS system time setting may be changed (e.g. for daylight
savings). Until a RESETTIME command is issued, or SIT parameter
AUTORESETTIME is used, the changed system time value will not
be picked up by the CICS system. An application can receive the
updated time however, by issuing an ASKTIME command to
refresh its EIB. Until an ASKTIME command is issued, the
EIBTIME and EIBDATE fields will still reflect the old system
time. This is because they are populated from CSATODP and
CSAJYDP at task attach, but updated via a TIME macro when an
ASKTIME command is issued. A TIME macro picks up the changed
    system time.
    KEYWORDS: MVS clock

Problem conclusion

  • DFHAPIN has been changed to use a TIME macro to populate EIBTIME
and EIBDATE with their initial values.
