Error description

  • Customer is reporting intermittent login issues in ReqWeb. When
users attempt to log in to a project on the server, the login
hangs and the user is unable to get in to the project. The
administrator on the ReqWeb server indicated that there was an
RqProxy.exe process that was tied to an old session file from
early in the morning. After killing the RqProxy.exe, 4 - 5 new
RqProxy.exes get created and users are able to log in again.

It sounds like an invalid RqProxy.exe is preventing users from
logging in to the server. I have attached logs from the
customers environment. The 002 log in the attached zip contains
errors in the systemout.log that are related to the problem. The
issue happened at 10:41AM as indicated in the logs.

When RequisiteWeb users try to login, the login page hangs.
The problem is intermittently, and can be recovered by
    ending the RQproxies process.

Problem conclusion

  • New logic in RequisiteWeb code was added to manage the
RqProxy.exe processes, separating the process used by
RequisiteWeb from the ones used by the RequisiteWeb
integration to other products like Rational Quality Manager.
Also a new configuration parameter has been added to the
config.txt file so RqProxies process are/are not reused for
    RequisiteWeb integrations
