Error description

• QMF does not prompt for confirmation for an update or insert
  for the Merge statement when the profile is setup for
  notification.

  * USERS AFFECTED: All QMF for TSO/CICS V9.1 users running      *
  *                 queries containing the SQL MERGE             *
  *                 statement.                                   *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Users running queries containing the    *
  *                      MERGE statement will not receive the    *
  *                      confirmation prompt panel when queries  *
  *                      are run with the command RUN QUERY      *
  *                      (CONFIRM=YES). The MERGE query will run *
  *                      successfully.                           *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  QMF was not internally flagging the MERGE statement as a
  maintenance query. When the confirmation prompt panel processing
  was entered, the query was not thought to be eligible for
  confirmation prompts and the processing was bypassed.
  

Problem conclusion

• QMF code has been fixed to properly flag the SQL MERGE statement
  as a maintenance query so that confirmation prompt processing
  will occur.
