The problem occurs when using direct row access to retrieve
a row that is a pointer-overflow row and whose data is in
non-current version format.  In this case, the wrong bit was
set to indicate that a latch is held on the page.  When a
request was made to release the page, the abend occurred
because the latch had not been released.

Problem conclusion

  • The code was changed to set the correct bit to indicate that
a latch was acquired on the page.
