APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The DB2 Object Comparison Tool APPLY job for an ALTER TABLE
  ADD CONSTRAINT to a table along with an ALTER INDEX ADD COLUMN
  cause the INDEX to be placed in REBUILD PENDING , RBP , state.
  .
  As no REBUILD INDEX utility was created, the CHECK DATA utility
  failed with RC08 and message:
    DSNU214I  AAAAA- DSNUGDTC - REBUILD PENDING ON INDEX
                     PROHIBITS PROCESSING

Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED: All users of DB2 Administration Tool for     *
  *                 z/OS or DB2 Object Comparison Tool for z/OS  *
  *                 who run ALTER INDEX ADD COLUMN. The index    *
  *                 may put into a REBUILD PENDING state.        *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: DB2 Administration Tool or              *
  *                      DB2 Object Comparison Tool issue an     *
  *                      ALTER INDEX ADD COLUMN cause the INDEX  *
  *                      to be placed in REBUILD PENDING state.  *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF.                               *
  ****************************************************************
  When the ALTER INDEX is used, the product will verify the state
  of the index. If a REBUILD PENDING state is detected, the
  product will perform a REBUILD INDEX utility on the index.
  

Problem conclusion

• The problem has been fixed by PK70132.
