APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The LUNAME is passed by APPC in XCF but the message
came to IMS without a valid TPNAME. In our case the TPNAME was
blanks. IMS did not reject the message which left PSTCNT
zero and PSTSYMBO blanks. This may lead to a S0C4 in
DFS6LUS0 when it gets to the DFSLUMIF SEND call depending
on contents of PL/X workarea.

IMS does not validate the LUNAME when received from APPC.
Currently IMS will propagate the LUNAME which can result in
an abend.

DFSRLM00 has been modified to reject the input if the LUNAME
passed by APPC is zeros or blanks.  MSGDFS1959E will be issued
with a reason code=0508.

The Diagnosis manual (GC19243600) under
"DFS1959E Message Information" for DFSRLM00, add:

0508
  Blank or zero LUNAME received.
