A DB2 z/OS application connects to a remote location via
SQL Connect. Before executing any table related SQL, the
application executes an SQL Get Diagnostics to obtain
DB2_SERVER_CLASS_NAME information. If the remote connection
is established via SNA, the DB2_SERVER_CLASS_NAME information
may be null. The incorrect null contents are not detected which
may lead to a 256 byte overlay. Depending on the storage that
is overlaid, unpredictable symptoms may occur.

Problem conclusion

  • DDF related logic has been changed to insure that the
DB2_SERVER_CLASS_NAME information is properly established
after an SQL Connect.
