Error description

• ABEND04E RC00E2000E from DSNVGACE DSNSFBK OFFSET11B6
  caused DB2 to crash with RC00E50705
  .
  In this customer's case CICS was shutting down.
  It is possible to overlay FREE keyword for the fixed storage
  block as ACECHNA was pointing to the wrong place.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ABEND04E RC00E2000E in DSNSFBK after    *
  *                      shutting down the DB2 threads from a    *
  *                      CICS region when there were multiple    *
  *                      dissociated threads in the CICS         *
  *                      address space.  Depending on where      *
  *                      the abend occurs, DB2 may terminate     *
  *                      with RC00E50705.                        *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  When the CICS commit coordinator thread terminates, DSN3ID80
  will queue any dissociated threads left behind for termination.
  DSN3ID80 will take the ACEs off the VLCA chain but the ACEPACE
  pointer is not reset.  This can cause the 'FREE' character
  string in a free ACE to be overlaid with zeros due to the
  residual ACEPACE pointer.  When the overlaid ACE is later taken
  off the free chain, it will fail the validity check and result
  in an ABEND04E RC00E2000E in DSNSFBK.  SMCOVERLAY
  

Problem conclusion

• The ACE de-chaining code in DSN3ID80 has been corrected.
