• In DB2 Object Comparison Tool for z/OS, when a drop and
  recreate of a tablespace with partitions > 254 is detected,
  the tool issues message and abends with RC=8 in TO3COMP step.

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF.                               *

  The DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS did not load all
  of DB2 ZPARMs.  This is caused by the catalog extraction
  (GEN) processing not presenting the max_util_parts in
  the version file header record. The default max_util_parts
  value 254 is used.  Later, this causes DB2 Object
  Comparison Tool for z/OS to fail if the table space has
  more than 254 partitions.
  

Problem conclusion

• DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS increased the total
  number of ZPARMs in order to load all of the ZPARMs.
