    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When recovering a database and either *

    * tells DRF that the image copy restore *

    * DRF may attempt to delete and redefine *
    * the DBDS. This will corrupt the DBDS *
    * and recovery will encounter an error *
    * when trying to apply logs or CA files. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: INSTALL CORRECTIVE SERVICE FOR APAR/PTF *
    ****************************************************************
When recovering a database and either USEDBDS or USEAREA are
specified this tells DRF that the image copy restore has
already been done so, only log and change accumulation records
are applied. If the DBATRB() keyword is specified on the ADD()
command, then DRF may attempt to delete and redefine the DBDS.
This will corrupt the DBDS and recovery will encounter an error
when trying to apply logs or CA files.

Problem conclusion

  • GEN:
    KEYWORDS:

    *** END IMS KEYWORDS ***
DRF has been modified to skip the delete and redefine for any
DBDS for which USEDBDS or USEAREA are specified.
