PM15426: Unable to transition RCR to rejected state.

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When using the Default ECP process in change 5.2 and
  transitioning an RCR from rcr_review2rcr_rejected state,
  user gets 'Transition failed. CR has been modified by another
  user' error.
  
  Environment:
  
  OS:  RHEL 5.0
  Too: Rational Synergy 7.1.0.1
          Rational Change 5.2.0.2
          RDS 5.0
  
  Case Summary:
  
  When using the default ECP process it is not possible to
  transition to the rejected state from review state as the BSF
  script in the pre-transition does not allow the transition and
  throws an error CR has been modified by another user'
  
  i.e.
  
  Install the ECP process package.
  Create a new RCR--?assign--?send to review--?reject.
  
  'Transition failed. CR has been modified by another user'
  error is seen as a pop-up.
  
  However, remove the existing pre-transition BSF scripts. create
  a new process package and install it.
  Once done Create a new RCR--?assign--?send to review--?reject.
  
  This time the transition goes through without any errors.
  
  Looks like it's a defect with the default BSF script.

  The transition rcr_review2rcr_rejected has a pre-trigger
  called delete_attributes.js that modifies the CR before it
  is transitioned, causing the error "Transition failed. CR
  has been modified by another user."
  

Problem conclusion

• Fixed in Rational Change 5.3.
  

Temporary fix

Comments

• The trigger delete_attributes.js was made a post transition trig
  ger for the transition rcr_review2rcr_rejected. Also the usage i
  nformation of the trigger was updated.
