APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Program Restart Facility currently scans enqueues to determine
whether a database is being process by IMS Online Reorg
Facility (ORF). ORF has provided access to an interface module
that determines whether a database is being processed by ORF
without checking ENQ's. This APAR will utilize the new interface
    provided by ORF.

    ****************************************************************
Program Restart Facility (PRF) uses excessive CPU when
IMS Online Reorg Facility is installed.
Program Restart Facility currently scans enqueues to determine
whether a database is being processed by IMS Online Reorg
Facility (ORF). ORF has provided access to an interface module
that determines whether a database is being processed by ORF
    without checking ENQs.

Problem conclusion

  • Program Restart Facility now calls ORF interface module
HRFOARC0 to determine whether a BMP should be paused by PRF
until ORF has completed processing databases used by each
    BMP.
In addition, a change to Copyright information has been made
    in each module.
Some changes to JCLIN for module definitions was also made
in this APAR. A new MOD was also added: IRTFXSR0.
To address the JCLIN and module changes, there were changes to
the"B" optional usermods (which can be used to have SMP copy
the SIRTLOAD members into RESLIB). If you use the "B" usermod,
you must restore and reject the usermod, and then receive and
apply the updated usermod included with this APAR.
