PM14324: THE TM1 SAP BW RFC CONNECTOR FOR SAP BW 7 TRUNCATES MEDIUM TEXT VALUES HAVING A FIXED LENGTH OF 40 CHARS AFTER 30 CHARS

Error description

• In SAP BW 7 string/text values of a characteristic element do
  have a fixed length: A short text has a fixed length of 20
  characters, a medium text of 40 characters and a long text of 60
  characters.  The TM1 SAP BW RFC Connector will import the
  longest available text/string value: If a characteristic element
  does have both a short text value and a medium text value, the
  TM1 SAP BW RFC Connector will return the medium text value.  The
  bug:  Though in SAP BW 7 the medium text has a length of 40
  chars, the TM1 SAP BW RFC Connector returns the first 30
  characters only, it drops the 10 characters from position 31 to
  40.  As a result medium text values will be truncated and thus
  are no longer unique, making them unfit to be used as dimension
  elements or aliases in TM1.
