Error description
In DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS when using Change Management ( CM ) with a MASK it is possible to MASK a source ALIAS name into the name of an existing target VIEW object name. If KEEPTGT option is chosen, the target VIEW remains active in the DB2 catalog. . When processing the change, CM ANALYZE step produces a warning message, and ends RC0 but subsequent RUN step fails RC8 . . Customer expects CM ANALYZE step to end RC8 to prevent execution of the RUN step until the ALIAS / VIEW name conflict is resolved. . For example, DB2 Object Compare Tool for z/OS generates a CHANGE and ends RC0 with the following warning: . Warning : Some objects have duplicate names after masking or other name change Alias A540769.WK942 is also found as a View . When resolving views, sequence is : 1) Tables 2) Views 3) Synonyms and 4) Aliases . Next, the CHANGE is IMPORT into CM successfully. Then the ANALYZE step is run. The same warning message appears in the ANALYZE joblog. The CM ANALYZE step completes with RC0 and status of change is updated, as noted in joblog: . ADB9354I Analyze completed successfully. The change status has been updated to ANALYZED for change "A540769"."WK94200C.0.000.IMP" (ID= 6867). . Subsequent attempt to execute CM RUN step for the change fails with SQLCODEN159 and message: . DSNT408I SQLCODE = -159, ERROR: THE STATEMENT REFERENCES ALIAS WHICH IDENTIFIES A VIEW RATHER THAN A ALIAS . when attempting to execute the following statement: DROP ALIAS A540769.WK942 ;
