    * new column in the same table. *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: If an existing column has been *
    * renamed and a new column in *

    * to the target column with the *
    * matching name instead of *
    * adding the new column. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF. *
    ****************************************************************
If an existing column has been renamed and a new
column in the table has the old name of the
renamed column, OC will compare the new column
to the target column with the matching name
instead of adding the new column.

Problem conclusion

  • DB2 Object Compare has been updated to test if
the column with "matching" name is a new column.
In such cases, the column will be added.

DB2 Object Compare will perform additional tests
and generate an error message if the name of the
matching column is specified in the renamecol mask
but the new name does not exist in the source table.
