Error description

  • During upgrade OMEGAMON DB2 PE system from 4.1 to 4.2,
tablespace DB2PM.PROCESS is left in CHKP status and as
consequence update of DB2PM database failed with SQL error code
    -204.

Local fix

  • Start the OMPE Server Started Task for each DB2 subsystem
individually, without any other DB2 subsystems being monitored.
    1) in RKD2PAR(D2OMO2):
       a) place an "*" in front of EXEC STRTOA and EXEC STRTNTH,
to comment these out and turn off Object Analysis
          and Near Term History.
       b) place an "*" in front of all RVTMxxxx members
(where xxxx is the DB2 subsystem ID) except the DB2
subsystem you're working with, so no other DB2s will
          be monitored.
    2) in RKD2PAR(OMPEMSTR) set AUTODETECT=N
    3) in RKD2PAR(OMPEyyyy) - where yyyy is the DB2 subsystem:
       a) comment out all statements starting with "AUTOEXCP",
          except leave AUTOEXCPFILE=N
       b) set PERFORMANCEWAREHOUSE=F to force a migration.

This should ensure no interference from any other processing.
