PM11031: THE RECON ADMINISTRATION FUNCTION IS NOT HANDLING DELETED RECONID'S CORRECTLY WHICH LEADS TO RECONID'S BEING REUSED

Error description

• The RECON administration function is not handling deleted
  RECONID's correctly which will lead to RECONID's being reused.

Problem summary

• ****************************************************************
  * USERS AFFECTED: Users that have ITKB and Policy Services     *
  *                 installed and have defined a Reconid in ITKB *
  *                 and then used that Reconid as a Locale to    *
  *                 define Policies. When the Reconid is deleted *
  *                 in ITKB that Reconid/Locale is still in use  *
  *                 by Policy Services.                          *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The IMS Tools Knowledge Base was        *
  *                      reusing deleted Reconids internal       *
  *                      identifier if the Reconid happened to   *
  *                      be the last Reconid defined. This reuse *
  *                      might cause confusion to a Policy       *
  *                      Services user because the policies that *
  *                      were defined appear to be related to a  *
  *                      different Locale.                       *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  The IMS Tools Knowledge Base was not keeping track of the last
  Reconid identifier used. This would cause the last Reconid
  identifier to be reused after the previous Reconid was deleted.
  

Problem conclusion

• The IMS Tools Knowledge Base will now keep track of the last
  Reconid internal id used and never reuse any Recon internal Ids.
