Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All Distributed Data Facility (DDF) users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When multiple collection IDs are * * used in the PACKAGE PATH clause of * * a CREATE PROCEDURE statement, or * * via SET CURRENT PACKAGE PATH, the * * following negative SQLCODEs are * * possible when performing remote * * SQL requests: * * 1. SQLCODE -501 incorrectly issued * * on FETCH or CLOSE. * * 2. SQLCODE -516 incorrectly issued * * on DESCRIBE. * * 3. SQLCODE -518 incorrectly issued * * on EXECUTE. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When multiple collection ids are specified either via the PACKAGE PATH clause at CREATE PROCEDURE time, or via the SET CURRENT PACKAGE PATH statement, the list of collection ids is used to resolve references to packages that are used to execute remote SQL statements. The negative SQLCODEs listed above may be incorrectly issued because not all the COLLIDs specified via PACKAGE PATH were used to resolve package references.
Problem conclusion
DB2 for z/OS requester has been changed to resolve package references for remote statements when PACKAGE PATH with more than one entry is used.
