PM10659: ADB3011E ERROR PROCESSING TABLE SPACE AAA.AAA IN CREATE STATEMENT: THE TABLE SPACE IS PARTITIONED BUT PARTITIONING INDEX

Error description

• The DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS Change Management function
  built a WSL which did not contain a partitioning index resulting
  in the message:
  ADB3011E Error processing Table Space xxxx.xxxx in CREATE
  statement: The table space is partitioned but
           partitioning index has not been found.

  *                 indexes after changing from index-           *
  *                 based to table-based partitioning.           *

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The DB2 Object Comparison Tool          *
  *                      dropped the index by dropping           *
  *                      the table space for migration to        *
  *                      table based partitioning. This leads    *
  *                      to the following validation error:      *
  *                                                              *
  *                        ADB3011E Error processing.            *
  *                                                              *
  *                      Apar PM05319 fixed this issue           *
  *                      by dropping/recreating the index        *
  *                      instead of dropping/recreating          *
  *                      the table space.                        *
  *                                                              *
  *                      The DB2 Object Comparison               *
  *                      Tool did not generate the ALTER         *
  *                      TABLE statement to trigger DB2          *
  *                      partition migration from index-based    *
  *                      to table-based partitioning because     *
  *                      the last limit key was MAXVALUE.        *
  *                                                              *
  *                      ADB3011E Error processing Table Space   *
  *                      xxxx.xxxx in CREATE statement:          *
  *                                                              *
  *                      The table space is partitioned but      *
  *                      partitioning index has not been found.  *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF.                               *

  The DB2 Object Comparison Tool dropped the index
  by dropping the table space after migration to table-based
  partitioning, leading to validation error.
  
  DB2 Object Compare did not generate the
  ALTER TABLE statement to trigger DB2 partition
  migration from index-based to table-based
  partitioning because the last limit key was
  MAXVALUE.
  

Problem conclusion

• The problem has been resolved. The DB2 Object
  Comparison Tool will generate the correct ALTER
  TABLE statement.
