PM09814: BIND COPY FROM REMOTE LOCATION FAILS

Error description

• In DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS, when attempting to do
  a bind copy to a remote location via DD;CO, the SSID being
  used is from the original location and not the remote
  location resulting in PACKAGE does not exist.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: In DB2 Administration Tool for          *
  *                      z/OS, when attempting to do             *
  *                      a bind copy to a remote location        *
  *                      via DD;CO, the SSID being               *
  *                      used is from the original               *
  *                      location and not the remote             *
  *                      location resulting in the               *
  *                      error 'PACKAGE does not exist'.         *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF.                               *
  ****************************************************************
  The BC command will not work when connected to
  a remote system because the BIND COPY
  command will always copy the package from the
  local catalog instead of the remote catalog.
  

Problem conclusion

• Panel ADB21K (Packages) has been modified to
  restrict the BC command on a package
  when the user is connected to a remote system.
  The following message will appear when the BC
  command is issued:
  
  'Not possible'.
  
  Upon issuing a PF1 the following long message
  will be seen:
  
  'This function is not possible at remote locations'
