  • The DB2 Object Comparison Tool for z/OS incorrectly reports:
Compare table source(aaaaaaaD.aaaaaaa) and
target(aaaaaaa.aaaaaaa)
  (A)Drop constraint : a_aaaaa_aaaa
  (A)Add  constraint : a_aaaaa_aaaa
  Tables have identical column lists
  Table will be altered
when no changes were made to the CHECK CONSTRAINT

* USERS AFFECTED: Users of DB2 Object Comparison Tool who      *
*                 compare tables with check constraints.       *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The DB2 Object Comparison Tool          *
*                      converted the check condition from the  *
*                      target to uppercase and left the source *
*                      check condition in mixed case which led *
*                      to the difference between source and    *
*                      target.                                 *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF.                               *
****************************************************************
The DB2 Object Comparison Tool incorrectly reports the changed
check constraint and generates a drop and create of the check
constraint when no changes were made.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The DB2 Object Comparison Tool has been updated to convert to
uppercase the check condition from the source  before comparing
both constraints.
