Error description

  • In DB2 Admin Tool GEN function can result in abend0c8 with SIZE
    condition oncode340 from compile unit ADB2REP at entry point
    NOTIFY_REBIND when REBIND plan and package count exceeds
    36400 limit.
    .
    Percolation of fixed point overflow exception causes abends0c8
    which also shows abendu4038 rc01 and abendu4039 rc00 .
    

Local fix

  • Remove request for rebinds from GEN processing

    The abend occurred because a DB2 Administration
    Tool limit was reached. The maximum number of
    packages that can be generated is 32K.
    

Problem conclusion

  • An error message is now issued instead of an abend
    for the following:
    
    Message ADB1456E is issued when the number of
    plan dependencies has exceeded the product limit of
    32K.
    
    Message ADB1457E is issued when the number of
    package dependencies has exceeded the product limit
    of 32K.
    
    Message ADB1458E is issued when the number of
    packages has exceeded the product limit of 32K.
